Freshers Fayre has been an absolute blast this year. We began the morning at 10 am unboxing goodies from our sponsors: Accenture #GetInTheMix jelly beans and BCS pencils and lollipops.
As expected, we ran out of leaflets, booklets, and everything within four hours! We had 91 members sign up after the one day.
Our primary sponsor for this academic year is Accenture. They are the world’s largest technology consulting and outsourcing company, with clients in over 120 countries, and employees working in over 40 industries. Not surprisingly, they are one of the most popular placement destinations for Brunel students. Our relationship will also give our members many opportunities to learn more about the company and the industry.
The AR2 drone is a remote controlled quad copter controlled using AR.FreeFlight app available on Android and IOS devices. It includes a 720p front-facing camera used to record all your taking off, landings, hovering, and flips! It is very stable, easy to maneuver and has carbon fiber tubes to keep it safe.
Adruino is an electronic board with various sensors which can be programmed to make interactive projects. We had a button for a counter and a display to show how may times the button has been pressed; and another that has an ultrasonic sensor module that detects how many away objects are. You can attach different hardware to create new projects.
Our official Tech Society T-Shirts also proved very popular at our stall. With demand being so high online ordering details will be available very soon. We will announce it on our social media pages, website and through email.
